Pets
According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), over half of all American households have at least one dog or cat they consider a member of their family. The unique bond we share with our pets dramatically enriches our lives, including our physical health and our emotional well-being. Research has shown that companion animals reduce stress, lower blood-pressure, help fight depression and loneliness, protect against heart disease by providing psychological stability, and even reduce the number of medical visits we make to a doctor.
