Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Johns Hopkins University
Johns Hopkins University retirees and their spouses are invited to become members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Johns Hopkins University. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Johns Hopkins University is a program for active retired, and semi-retired men and women who are pursuing intellectual enrichment, rewarding cultural and social opportunities and a stimulating atmosphere in which to develop new friendships. In 2007, the institute joined the master of liberal arts program and the noncredit Odyssey program within the Center for Liberal Arts in the Johns Hopkins Krieger School of Arts and Sciences.

Osher at JHU offers noncredit courses for retired and semi-retired individuals covering a wide range of topics including art, history, philosophy and literature. Courses are offered in the mornings and afternoons on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Johns Hopkins Montgomery County Campus in Rockville; on Wednesdays at the Columbia Center; and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Grace United Methodist Church in Baltimore.
The Osher Foundation seeks to improve quality of life through support for higher education and the arts. The foundation currently supports 119 Osher Llifelong Learning Institutes on university and college campuses in 48 states, including an Osher Lifelong Learning at American University in Washington D.C.
Tuition remission for Johns Hopkins University retirees and spouses
Retirees of Hopkins are eligible to receive 50 percent remission of annual membership dues. Spouses of retirees are eligible for 25 percent remission of annual membership dues.
Fall and Spring Classes
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Johns Hopkins University members participate in two 12-week terms; the fall term begins in September and ends in mid-December, and the spring term begins in February and ends in mid-May.
Locations
There are two locations for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Johns Hopkins University in the Baltimore/Washington area.
In Baltimore/Columbia, members may participate in programs offered at Grace United Methodist Church in Baltimore on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and at the Johns Hopkins Columbia Center on Wednesdays.
In Rockville, members may participate in programs offered at the Johns Hopkins Montgomery County Campus on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
