New and expectant parents are invited to attend the Johns Hopkins Baby Shower to learn about the variety of services to support you during the exciting life transition of welcoming a baby into your family.
- Learn about breastfeeding support, choosing quality childcare, postpartum depression, car seat safety, and other topics.
- Meet with a Benefits representative to review your employee benefits package.
- Network with other expectant and new parents at Johns Hopkins. Men will have the opportunity to join other dads to discuss bonding with your baby, adjusting to new schedules, and other topics.
To register for the spring baby shower, please fill out and submit the registration form. Once you submit the registration form, you will receive a confirmation email within three days with details about the event, including the location.
Registration closes on Wednesday, April 24 at 5:00 p.m.
The Fall Baby Shower is scheduled for Wednesday, November 20, 3 - 5 p.m., East Baltimore campus. Registration will open late August.

A. All JHU/JHH full-time and part-time faculty and staff are eligible to attend the Johns Hopkins Baby Shower free of charge as part of your employee benefits package. Unfortunately, residents, postdocs, and graduate students are not eligible to attend at this time.
A. While it is not required for you to attend the entire event, it is strongly encouraged. The event is composed of five presentations and one break-out session. Before, during and after the presentations, you can speak with vendors, such as the Maryland Family Network to discuss childcare referrals and EHP to discuss health insurance. If you must leave the event early or arrive late, you will receive handouts from all of the presentations.
A. Guests are welcomed and encouraged to attend. If you would like to bring a guest, please include your guest on the registration form to ensure we have an accurate count for materials and seating.
A. Yes, however we ask that you email to let us know that you have decided to bring a guest to the baby shower. Please include your guest’s name.
A. We ask that you do not bring your child to the Baby Shower. We can assist you in utilizing the Johns Hopkins Backup Care program if you need childcare during the event. If you are interested in registering for Backup Care or would like additional information, please call us at 443-997-7000.
A. Everyone that registers for the Baby Shower and indicates that they will need parking for the event will receive an email with specific parking instructions.
A. The Office of Work, Life & Engagement partners with the Maryland Family Network LOCATE Child Care Services for our childcare referrals. The Maryland Family Network maintains a database for all licensed childcare facilities within the state of Maryland. To start the referral process, email the following information:

- Preferred phone number
- Preferred email address
Your information will be forwarded to Maryland Family Network and they will contact you within three days of receiving your information.
We will also have a representative from Maryland Family Network at the Baby Shower. You are welcome to speak with the representative and start the referral process at the Baby Shower.
A. There will be a Benefits representative from JHU and from JHH/JHHS at the Baby Shower who will discuss employee benefits related to the addition of a new baby to your family. If you have specific questions about your benefits, you will be able to speak with the Benefits representative after their presentations.
A. You are welcomed to attend again, however, a majority of the information will be similar to previous baby showers.
