Each issue of PrimeTime News includes details about a retiree event, such as a day trip, visit to museum, book talk with JHU Press authors, or the holiday reception. We make every effort to accommodate any special needs, depending on the event.
You can also reunite with friends and former colleagues at university-wide activities such as Hopkins Night at Camden Yards, Hopkins Night at Ripken Stadium, and others.
If you would like to suggest an event, email or call 443-997-7000 and the Retiree Advisory Board will consider your suggestion.
Trip to the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington D.C.
Please join us on Tuesday, May 2! The National Museum of African American History and Culture is the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history, and culture. It was established by an Act of Congress in 2003, following decades of efforts to promote and highlight the contributions of African Americans. To date, the Museum has collected more than 36,000 artifacts and nearly 100,000 individuals have become charter members.
We have timed-entry tickets that allow us to enter the museum at 12:00PM (and no earlier). Retirees may explore the museum on their own until 3:00PM. We hope this trip introduces you to the museum and that you return in the future to fully digest its magnificence.
