Care@Work by Care.com

Johns Hopkins partners with Care.com to offer Care@work by Care.com, a corporate benefits program that includes in-home backup emergency care for children and adults, in-center backup care for children and a free premium care.com membership to perform self-directed searches for a variety of caregiving needs.

Eligibility

  • Faculty and staff of the university and the health system
  • Full-time post-docs, residents, and doctoral students who are fully funded by a wage or stipend

 

I. Backup Care

  • 10 days of in-home emergency care for children or adults/seniors
  • Care.com Backup Care specialist assists in locating prescreened and qualified caregivers
  • Backup child care can be used for children ages birth—17 years, 24/7, when school is closed, your child is sick, or you need to work late or on weekends
  • Adult backup care can be used for yourself and adult relatives for companion and personal care services, such as transportation to medical appointments and other hands-on care
  • Pay caregiver flat hourly co-pay based on your salary. Care.com will bill your credit card after service delivery

II. In-center Backup Childcare

  • Starting July 2018 in-center childcare is available
  • Care.com vets local childcare centers and is in the process of adding more
  • Once enrolling and choosing the in-center option, centers populate based on users home address.
  • Cost: $15/day

III. Premium Care.com Membership

Membership provides unlimited digital access to Care.com to:

  • Find coverage for one-time and reoccurring needs for child care, adult and senior care, pet care, housekeeping and tutoring
  • Search detailed caregiver profiles that include experience, availability, and reviews
  • Access background check options
  • Post jobs detailing your family’s needs
  • Payment is negotiated directly with provider
