Live Near Your Work Walking Tours Lineup Announced
The Live Near Your Work (LNYW) program, in partnership with Baltimore City community organizations, has scheduled four walking tours for the fall. While touring the neighborhoods, participants will learn about grant opportunities and homebuying incentives, as well as housing choices and community amenities.
Join the LNYW program manager on one or more of the following walking tours, all of which are scheduled 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Registration is required.
- Greektown – Thursday, Sept. 7. This neighborhood, tucked away in Southeast Baltimore, is filled to the brim with culture, cuisine, and characters!
- Barclay – Wednesday, Sept. 13. Barclay is in the midst of a resurgence with its growing housing stock, small business openings, and close proximity to Penn Station.
- Station East – Thursday, Sept. 21. Station East, a small enclave in the Milton Montford neighborhood, touts the tagline, “Why rent when you can own?”
- Harwood – Wednesday, Oct. 11. This non-traditional walking tour will start at a brewery where you’ll meet neighbors, business owners, and learn about the numerous initiatives that are making Harwood tick.
Live Near Your Work (LNYW) is a benefit offered to the faculty and staff of Johns Hopkins University and Health System to assist with down payments and closing costs for homes in select neighborhoods surrounding the East Baltimore and Homewood campuses.
